JoonYang Chung, CEO & Chairman, POSCO was appointed as V. Chairman of the World Steel Association. He is supposed to be be elected as Chairman at the October general meeting of next year, enhancing POSCO and Korean steel industry's prestige.
His nomination was made at the 46th annual general meeting of the WSA opened on 8th through 12th October in New Delhi, India with a three year term(October 2012~October 2015).
The WSA executive team consists of a Chairman and two V. Chairmen. New Chairman is Alexey Mordashov, Chairman, Severstal, and two V. Chairmen are Xiaogang Zhang, President, Baoshan Iron & Steel and JoonYang Chung. Chung will be elected as Chairman for October 2013-October 2014, according to precedent.
